Hello World! I give you “the bitField”… a triumph of modern computer science and engineering (yeah I wish!)

All my friends who have blogs also have a reason to blog. For some it represents sharing of knowledge, ideas and general randomness, for others its an act of purging their own frustrations from living a life less ideal, some others admit to just using it for self promotion and nothing else. I still haven’t figured out my reason as yet. Just thinking about it a little brings up a ton of things that I’d like to put down here, more as a note to self than anything else. That said I also think that the spirit of blogging as I see it is captured best by this quote I ran across a while ago

“I think the pleasure of completed work is what makes blogging so popular. You have to believe most bloggers have few if any actual readers. The writers are in it for other reasons. Blogging is like work, but without coworkers thwarting you at every turn. All you get is the pleasure of a completed task.”

(Scott Adams)

Setting this thing up was a end in itself for me, just to fool around with the technology, to see how long it would take, and how many hoops I needed to go through to get it just the way I wanted it (nope no using defaults here). Now that its up I should probably sit down and figure out things to say here.

…and not to mention fool around with the technology some more…
